Since the last few year’s independence day week in India has seen electronic music lovers throng to Goa as the number of events happening during that weekend almost equals to a mini-season during the off season! To top it all, in our opinion, Goa is at its most beautiful during the monsoon. And what better way to celebrate Independence with dance, freedom, beaches and lush scenery? We think there isn’t! While there are many big and smaller events to choose from in terms of sheer musical quality, here are some of our picks for these events are hosting some of the cream talents in the country.
01. Freedom Blast
If there is an event that has to be accredited with the boom of the independence weekender in Goa, it has to be Freedom Blast.
The flagship psytrance event started in 2010 when hardly anybody was visiting Goa in the monsoon for a party. Today it is one of the iconic events in India that attracts more than 2000 people. To top it off this edition promises to be their biggest lineup till date and takes place at the beautiful beachfront venue of Por do Sol in Ashvem.

02. Monsoon Blast
Hilltop in Goa needs no introduction. The legendary venue is one of the holy grail’s of psytrance and their monsoon event since the last few years has already gained a massive following. This edition also has quite a well-rounded lineup and the addition of a chill-out stage (perhaps the only event in Goa catering to it!) is definitely a great one.

03. Imagine 2019
One of our favs this year is Imagine brought to you by the crew behind Boshed, a weekly night in Goa that hosts some of the best and upcoming DJs in India. Why so? Because its the only event that hosts an all Indian lineup! With 43 DJs in total, with some of the best upcoming around Imagine 2019 is definitely one to watch out for.

04. Satellite Beachside
Hosted by former Mtv Vj and Submerge Boss Nikhil Chinnappa Satellite taking place at Bombay Adda, formerly known as Waters is definitely one of the people’s favorites. This years edition features once again a solid national lineup alongside international acts such a Bedrock biggie Nick Muir and Modeplex.
